A P2,000 paper bill featuring the late senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago Went Viral on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. A netizen named “Mikel Sarate” shared his layout of a P2,000 paper bill featuring the late senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago. The paper bill was inspired by the answer of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo during the Q&A portion of the pageant on Sunday.

“I know it’s a day late, but allow me to share my take of the (2000) paper bill inspired by #RabiyaMateo’s #MissUniversePhilippines journey,” Sarate wrote.

According to Mikel Sarate, he design features color red that portrays power and illustrates a phenomenal woman like the late senator; the Jaro Cathedral in IloIlo which symbolizes the love and devotion of the Ilonggos; a hablon which is considered as an indigenous fabric; the Rafflesia speciosa; and Santiago’s “medal of honor.”

Congratulations to Miss Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City for winning Miss Universe Philippines 2020. During Q & A, KC Montero asked: If you could create a new paper currency with the image of any Filipino on it dead or alive. Who would it be and why?

Miss Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City answered: If I were giving the chance, I want to use the face of Miriam Defensor Santiago for those who don’t know, she was an ilongga, but what I admire about her, she uses her knowledge, her voice to serve the country. And I want to be somebody like her, somebody who puts her heart, her passion into action, and after all she is the best President that we never had.
