Award winning Scottish actor Sir Sean Connery, best known for his portrayal of James Bond has died. He was 90. Sean Connery has died at the age of 90 leaving an incredible legacy of films behind. For many he created the definitive version of James Bond but he also made his mark with a number of other characters. The word ‘legend’ will get banded about today and justifiably.

He was largely regarded as being the best actor to have played 007 in the long-running franchise.

Sir Sean died last night in his sleep at his home in the Bahamas at the age of 90.

Sir Sean Connery has died at the age of 90. He was the first actor to play James Bond on the big screen in Dr. No in 1962, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever followed.

An actor who defined a character for several generations, knew how to reinvent himself, worked with directors like Alfred Hitchcock or Brian De Palma, won an Oscar and a BAFTA award, and left a unique film legacy. Farewell, Sir Sean Connery.
