Respected entertainment journalist Ricky Lo has passed away at the age of 75. The confirmation was made by Philippine Star, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Entertainment editor and columnist Ricky Lo on May 4, 2021.”
This was confirmed by his sister Susan Lee who asked that their time of mourning be respected first. Lo became popular for his exclusive interviews and showbiz scoops, both in print and broadcast media.
According to ABS-CBN, around 10 a.m. on May 4, Lo passed away due to a stroke.
Lo last wrote the article ‘The future of the industry’ in his “Funfare” column in The Philippine Star on May 3.
Lo hails from Las Navas, Northern Samar and completed an AB English course at the University of the East. He started as editorial assistant of Variety magazine since 1969.
In 1986, he started as a regular columnist for The Philippine Star.
