As difficult as it was to admit, a mother gave her son’s life up to God after witnessing his sad condition in the hospital. One of the two bikers, his son, was resting when he was hit by a white van in Pasay City.

According to Raffy Tima’s report on GMA News’ “24 Oras” on Thursday, the remains of 19-year-old Jericho Aguila had already been buried at their house.

Aguila and her friend, John Paolo Santos, 22, were resting on the sidewalk outside a mall on Wednesday morning when they were hit by a U-turn van.

Santos died instantly after dropping against the van, while Aguila was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

“Tinawag ko si Lord. Sabi ko, ‘Sige po, isusurender ko na anak ko kung ‘yon lang ang tamang paraan para hindi na siya magdusa, para hindi ko na makitang maghirap, isinusuko ko na po siya,” a sad statement from Aguila’s mother, Narcissa.

“Iyon parang biglang nag-flat yung ano niya. Tapos wala na [pumanaw na siya,” Narcissa added.

When the accident occurred, Aguila and Santos were followed by another friend, Diosdado Maravilla.

Maravilla’s story: the day before the terrible incident, they observed the U-turn van, and two of her friends remarked that the driver seemed to be having some trouble.

“Sabi ng dalawa. “Parang hindi pa marunong mag-drive yung driver,” according to Maravilla, the tragedy followed.

Marvilla was traumatized as a result of what happened and is stated to be unable to ride a bicycle anymore. His close friend Aguila, in particular, is said to be his usual bike partner.

The van’s 19-year-old driver, who allegedly did not have a license and was still drunk at the time of the incident, is being detained at the Pasay City Police Station.

The Aguila family is currently debating whether or not to bring a case. However, the van driver’s family was communicating to them.
