Willie Revillame, a veteran TV personality, and wealthy businessman Manny Villar began planning the development of the Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).
It was claimed before last year that Villar had already purchased the frequencies originally owned by ABS-CBN. Willie then announced that he had decided not to extend his contract with GMA-7 since he was currently talking with Villar.
It was claimed that the veteran TV personality will be an executive on the TV network of the Philippines’ richest man. According to the other source, Willie Revillame just met with Manny Villar.
Las Pias House Representative Camille Villar and AMBS President Beth Tolentino were also present during the meeting, which allegedly discussed their preparations for the launch of the TV network. It was predicted that the network will go live by the end of 2022.
However, it is possible that AMBS may be renamed ABS, or All Broadcasting System. Willie will play an important part in network management. When it came to program conceptions and the talent that would be employed, Villar put his faith in him.
It’s also possible that Willie will resume his noontime program. To recall, he used to host a noontime show called Wowowee on ABS-CBN. Willie’s broadcasts were part of the late-after hour when he moved to TV5, and eventually to GMA.
Manny Villar reportedly stated that he was currently able to purchase ABS-CBN transmitters throughout Luzon. The rich businessman is now in talks with the Kapamilya network about buying transmitters in the Visayas and Mindanao areas.
