The Department of Social Welfare and Development gave a statement on the delayed application replies.

The government agency used digital sites to accept applications for the DSWD Educational Cash Assistance offer.

Unfortunately, the agency  is having trouble responding to the applicants because of the large number of applications received.

According to a report on ABS-CBN News, the agency acknowledged that before, responding to applications usually took them two to three days; but, owing to the overwhelming volume of applications, they are still processing a number of the applications that were received in August.

The DSWD made the decision to discontinue accepting online requests for financial assistance for education.

Through a six-week program that will provide the recipients with financial assistance for their educational expenses, the Department of Social Welfare and Development seeks to assist underprivileged students.

The pupils may earn P1,000 to P4,000, according to DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo, according to a report on ABS-CBN News.

According to DSWD Secretary Tulfo, a household may get financial aid for up to three (3) students’ schooling. The program will last six weeks, from August 20 to September 24.
