Rhamayzee Milann Caporas, a Facebook user, uploaded heartbreaking photographs of a poor old grandfather who walked many kilometers to photocopy his ID. The post triggered a different reaction from the internet community.
Caporas was delivering relief items to farmers in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, when she came across tatay Semion Villamera, an 80-year-old man. The elderly man is walking slowly by using a staff to guide him.
Tatay Semion is holding a photocopy of his id card on a single sheet. The elderly man said that it was one of the standards he had to meet in able to qualify for financial help. The flood has completely destroyed Tatay Villamera’s home, he told Caporas. After the storm damaged his property and other appliances, the old man even showed Caporas his poor condition.
Rhamayzee also writes a message for the old man, which will be presented to the Cauayan City Office for financial help. Caporas will request more assistance to help the grandpa in restoring his damaged house.
Donations will be sent to Caporas by kindhearted netizens.
