The senator-elect is now getting a lot of attention online following the publication of a video in which a netizen can be heard asking him for P10,000.

Cayetano has been the Representative of Taguig–Pateros since 2019, and earlier from 1998 to 2007.

From 2017 to 2018, he was Secretary of Foreign Affairs under President Rodrigo Duterte’s government.

He ran for vice president in 2016 as the running mate of outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte. Unfortunately, he was defeated by departing Vice President Leni Robredo.

Cayetano is from a political family in Taguig. His father was a previous senator, his older sister is an incumbent senator, his younger brother is the Mayor of Taguig, and his wife is the representative of Taguig’s 2nd district.

Furthermore, Cayetano is getting a lot of attention online after a video of him in which a netizen can be heard saying, “Sir, P10-K ko sir… sir P10-K.”

Cayetano and his wife were still inside mall when a netizen approached them and demanded for P10,000.

The P10-K concerns the senator-promised elect’s “ayuda” to low-income households.

Cayetano initiated the P10K Ayuda Bill in the House of Representatives in May 2021 to assist individuals affected by the pandemic.

The bill was apparently rejected. Cayetano also started two assistance initiatives, Sampung Libong Pag-asa and Sari-saring Pag-asa.

Cayetano became recognized on social media as a result of his offer of P10,000 in help. The concept also inspired jokes around him.
